  My research within the UiL-OTS Research Institute at Utrecht University focuses on the effects of pedagogically grounded integration of e-learning in foreign language curricula. More particularly, I study the affordances of implementing virtual exchanges in Lingua Franca constellations or with expert peers in an international context for language learning, pedagogical skill enhancement of teachers and the development of intercultural communicative competence. I teach several courses at BA and MA levels at the Department of Language Literature and Communication at Utrecht University. I am/have been project leader of different innovative e-learning European funded projects: -TeCoLa: Pedagogical differentiation through telecollaboration and gaming for intercultural & content integrated language teaching (Erasmus+, 2016-2019, www.tecola.eu). -TILA: Telecollaboration for Intercultural Language Acquisition (Lifelong Learning 2013-2015, www.tilaproject.eu) - NIFLAR: Networked Interaction in Foreign Language Acquisition and Research (Lifelong Learning 2009-2011, www.niflar.eu). Additional educational innovation projects in which I have participated: - Eindhoven2030: Dutch innovation project. - EUROVERSITY (Network project , LifeLong Learning, 2011-2014, www.euroversity.eu). Special Interest in: educational innovation, e-learning (especial focus on Augmented and Virtual Reality) , synchronous computer mediated communication, serious games & gamification, telecollaboration or virtual exchange, effectiveness of tasks, teacher training, intercultural pragmatics and impact of computer mediated communication on students' motivation. I am a member of the editorial boards of key Journals on Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL): - ReCALL - EuroCALL Review Journal - The Journal of Teaching English with Technology. Between 2015 and 2018 I was a member of the Dutch National Expert Team on Foreign Language Pedagogy.
